How this works.

Stirred classics typically pick up about 25% of their ingredient volume in water from the ice during a 20-second stir. Shaken cocktails climb to roughly 30%; rolled and built-on-rocks land lower.

The presets are starting points, not gospel. Big cubes melt slower than cracked ice. A long stir with mediocre ice can hit 35%. Calibrate to your bar, not to a table.
